Oh the fickle winds of Chaos

Last month I finally shelled out for a Hellcannon to give my Warriors of Chaos some firepower. It came and it's a huge pewter model. It took me 6 hours to file down just the two main pieces to fit together. Its is going to need countless hours of green stuff in order to fix all the gaps and make it look nice before it can be painted.

So this was announced today:

Believe it or not.

For the first time in about a year I'm going to play some 40k this weekend. Time to dust off my Box 'o Boyz and let my Orks Waaagh across the table. I'm actually looking forward to it. It'll be good to get some play time with them in again before they get back-shelved when I rebuild my Necron Army.
I have most of the Necrons I want, just short a Ghost Arc or three. But I said I wouldn't rebuild that until my Warriors of Nurgle Army is done. I've made some good headway there. The Lord and Sorcerer are painted and the Knights and Chosen have their armor and horns mostly complete. Just need to add shading and paint all the details, and horses, for them to be done. My Hellcannon came in and after many hours of filing got it all fit together and glued. Its going to need quite a bit of work with GreenStuff before it ready to paint. Darn old pewter models. Very time consuming, but the models look great when finished.

Recent Happenings

The Magic pre-release was the weekend before last and had a great turnout. 19 Players entered and it ended up with Chris (Chaos Minion) in first and myself in 4th.
The new set Launch was last weekend but only had 6 players so was rather disappointing. But a couple of them were newer players so it was good to give them some tips on playing and deck building. Steve won first and myself second.
The next tournament will be in 3 weeks but I'm not expecting much of a turnout as the format is prebuilt decks and many don't want to pay to enter as they know they will most likely be beat by those like myself with better decks/more experience.

This weekend I'm eager to play Warhammer Fantasy. My Hellcannon came in and I'm looking forward to trying it out on the table. (if I can get it to fit together...stupid old pewter models). I'm hoping to get in a big team battle so I'll be there pretty much as soon as the store opens.
